Week 1 at the Edmonton Journal

December 20, 2008

Here are my articles from the first week of my winter internship at the Edmonton Journal:

Saturday, Dec 20, page B5: NAIT team creates top-notch policing pitch

Friday, Dec 19, page B3: Display depicts Christ’s birth in 560 ways

Thursday, Dec 18, page B3: Santa flight thrills children

Wednesday, Dec 17, page A1: Christmas offers kids lessons in giving

Tuesday, Dec 16, page A3: Charities feel the pinch of economic downturn

The week was a lot of fun… I really enjoyed getting the exposure, the chance to talk to a bunch of interesting people, and the really great placement the paper gave the pieces.

I also learned some lessons: taxis are not an effective mode of transportation in one of Edmonton’s coldest weeks of the year.
